Flip Flops in Style
How to Achieve It

Like always, the secret lies on the small details. The flip flops, the rubber ones, the ‘let’s go to the beach’ ones can be worn in style as part of a summer to autumn transition look.

Welcome, beauties! Have you been on holidays for a few days? Are you ready to come back to uni, to class, to the office? But, most importantly, are you ready to come back to Deseo Beauty? YEAH! (By the way, for those of you who enjoy my bilingual posts, I’ve now separated the two languages and you can read this post in English here or in Spanish here. From now on you’ll see little flags on the top menu and at the end of the blog and it will also tell you at the beginning of every post when you can read it in the other language. Much tidier!)

I’ve had quite of a busy August planning every detail of what Deseo is going to be for this new ‘school year’. It’s been quite of a hectic summer for me, but the efforts are all being rewarded: I’ve met a bunch of wonderful people and together we’ve started to lay the basis for great projects together, I’ve got in touch with new and great bloggers, I’ve been to really cool events and created new friendships with people who share this online spirit. But I don’t want to reveal anything yet because on Monday the 1st of September we’re back with the videos and with all the announcements and news, so set yourself an alarm and come back here on Monday to find out about everything!

But before I end this summer and hang the ‘Back to School’ sign, I wanted to share a last summer post with you since we’ve still got the Indian Summer coming in which we’ll have a last opportunity to enjoy a few days of sun and tapas ‘alfresco’. Listen, grab that opportunity! And what better to do that than with a few transition pieces?

Don’t say bye to your flip flops yet even if you’re back in the city! Hang on to them for a little while longer to prolong that summer feeling.

It’s essential to have a pair of clean flip flops with a nice design. This is not about wearing your most ugly ones but to keep a pair to ‘dress up’. Ipanema sent me this cute pair – in my favourite colour! – and I fried my brain up thinking “well, summer is about to end and it’s not that hot to talk about flip flops anymore”. But I kept thinking that they were so pretty and I that I really wanted to show them to you (this year), so *bling!* a lightbulb turned on: how to wear your flip flops in style, in the city.

I mentioned details: accessories. It’s quite easy: if you already have your flip flops in a colour that’s good for your colour season (cool or warm) now you only have to glam them up with beautiful accessories in one of the king metals: gold for warm people and silver for cool people. It’s incredible what you can achieve by just adding this simple, but powerful, colour touch. It dresses up any outfit, even the ‘shorts and flip flops’ one.

Since we are transitioning I wanted to keep the top warm but in a breathable material with a knitted cotton jumper. A maxi scarf in a light fabric and in both power colours – the flip flop’s and the accessories’ – ties everything together and gives you that transition feel. And the bag speaks for itself! Its shape reminds us of the beach bags we will miss so much but its stunning shade is the – golden – touch to achieve this look.

Sunnies are needed in the summer but also during the bright days of autumn and winter. I choose them in chocolate an golden tones that go with my warm colouring, but pick cooler shades if you are a winter or a summer. As a rule of thumb if you are cool change the temperature of your flip flops and your accessories. How about a navy blue ones with accessories in charcoal, gunmetal and silver? Wow!

Go and enjoy this Indian Summer, beauties, I’ll see you all on Monday full of surprises!
